Pageants

About the Pageants

Our Watermelon Pageants are among the most anticipated events of the year at the Watermelon Festival! We are thrilled to continue this tradition and invite you to participate in one of three exciting categories: Baby/Toddler, Tiny/Teen, and our Queen Pageant.

Categories
  • Baby/Toddler: Ages 0-4 years
  • Tiny/Teen: Ages 5-15 years
  • Queen Pageant: Ages 16-18 years
Registration Details
  • Cost: $30 per child (includes a Watermelon Festival pageant t-shirt)
  • Deadline: All completed pageant forms and payments must be submitted by Wednesday, July 31st, 2024, at noon.
  • Location: Please drop off forms and payments at the Knox County Chamber of Commerce office:
    • Address: 702 Main Street, Vincennes, IN
How to Register

To register for the Watermelon Pageants, please download the correct pageant form below and follow these steps:

  1. Complete the registration form.
  2. Include payment of $30 per child.
  3. Drop off both the form and payment at the Knox County Chamber of Commerce office by the deadline.

5K Run & Walk

Calling all runners and walkers! Lace up your shoes and join us for the annual Watermelon Festival 5k, proudly sponsored by Old National Bank. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned runner, this event promises fun and fitness for all ages and abilities.

Registration:

  • $30 per person
  • Includes a finisher medal and commemorative t-shirt if registered by July 26th, 2024.

Experience the Scenic Route:

Embark on a picturesque journey through our beautiful downtown, passing by historical landmarks and charming main streets. The course offers a delightful mix of urban scenery and small-town charm, making it a perfect setting for a summer morning run or walk.

Event Highlights:

  • Community Spirit: Join fellow participants and spectators in celebrating health, wellness, and our vibrant community.
  • Best Dressed: Deck yourself out in your best watermelon themed attire, or whatever fun ideas you have! This is great to get a group together for.
  • Finish Line Festivities: Stick around after the race for refreshments, awards, and of course, juicy watermelon!

Whether you're aiming for a personal best or simply out to enjoy the morning with friends and family, the Watermelon Festival 5k is an event not to be missed. Register today and be part of this summer tradition!

Antique Tractor Show

Calling all antique lovers! Join us at the Knox County Watermelon Festival for a 2-day Antique Tractor Show sponsored by Organ Battery and Electric.

Dates and Times:

  • Friday, August 2nd: 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM
  • Saturday, August 3rd: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Location:

  • Tractor Unloading: Main Street between 1st and 2nd Street
  • Trailer Parking: Rendezvous Grounds, 301 Willow Street

Details:

  • Participation: FREE to participate
  • Registration: NO registration is needed

About the Festival

Celebrating the huge watermelon industry in Knox County with some summertime fun - the Watermelon Festival is traditionally held on the first full weekend in August. This event boasts with fair food favorites, live music, pageants, and of course, watermelon!
